Changing the local path of projects is not intuitive in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server
The Local Path is the place that the code resides on your local machine; this is setup when you join a project. If you subsequently add something to the project and discover (as I did) that it is not in the right place, then you can move it quite easily; once you know where to look. The Local Paths are set in the Workspace that you have setup for the project, so to edit these you need the File -> Source Control -> Workspaces… menu item which opens the workspaces dialog. From here you can edit the workspace and remove/add/change the local paths.
Simple once you find it!

I’ve not posted here for a while now, which is probably the biggest sin of the blogging world. But then this was never designed to be a view into my life, more a collection of professional comments from my work life.
I’ve returned as I now have a comment which is partly from my work life and partly my own life. I’ve just been looking at AdaptiveBlue, which is apparantly a ‘web 3.0′ technology (if technology is the right word here). This is web 3.0 in terms of the semantic web, i.e. providing contextual information based on the semantics of the content.
AdaptiveBlue provides a contextual link next to your own hyperlinks that provides extended information on that link. Examples are things such as films and book, where it will provide you with links to Amazon or reviews etc.
It is interesting and a good tool. My reason for mentioning it is my perception of how quickly people are moving past web 2.0, which as far as I know still has not landed with that big a thump, and into web 3.0. It is difficult to include new technologies in web sites as people do not want them, they do not understand or percieve the benefit. This is changing, and I’m leading our company into web 2.0 through increasing use of more interactive web sites that provide a more desktop style user experience.
I wonder if the web 3.0 thing that is starting to emerge is people trying to be the one to define the ‘next big thing’ and thus make a name for themselves amongst the techy?
Who knows.

I’ve now upgraded the look of the site to a custom design provided by Adam Lofting.
My previous design was from those available for free from a library of designs provided for Wordpress. However, when you start to see the same design being used across other sites, it feels time enough to change it :)
